My veg box costs £12 from East Coast Organics, and last week I got potatoes, carrots, parsnips, brocolli, spinach, tomatoes, apples, bananas, pears and kiwi fruit. There's plenty for me, but I miss having guinea pigs to feed the leftovers to.

If you're trying out vegetable-based cake recipes, I can definitely recommend this courgette cake, which is actually a vegan recipe but all the ingredients are things you would find in an omnivore's kitchen. One of my favourite things about this cake is watching the horrified reactions when I tell people what it is.
