some knitting questions for my friends...

i'm presuming, but I know my knitting friends will have the answers, and I don't have to go and ask all the strangers in the big scary communities....
1) I know you can't block acrylic (I mostly kill it anyway), but can you block, or indeed do you need to block, a 75% acrylic 25% wool blend? This is the green & red pullover for Nico.
2) While I'm thinking about what to do with the part of the debbie bliss 50/50 merino/cotton haul that isn't going into http://www.stitchdiva.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=SDS-005, can someone tell me if that yarn will felt? I'm hoping that it won't because then I can use it to make something that doesn't necessarily have to fear the washing machine (or Bill)...
Oh, and for those who haven't heard me squealing with excitement about it yet...

Date: 2005-01-28 07:18 am (UTC)The Debbie Bliss website says it can be washed on the wool cycle at 40 degrees. Doesn't sound like it will felt. Cotton definitely doesn't felt. I would wash it in a sweater bag, though.
As for content, how about a gallery of FOs? A list of knitting shops in Scotland (won't be terrribly long). Links to websites for needles and such like. I mean, I prefer to use the actually shops but it would be useful to have the links in one place :)

Date: 2005-01-28 07:40 am (UTC)as for the website yes, we want it to be an information source first and foremost, I guess, but we gotta have some visuals, so FO gallery is a great idea. You've got lots of those...
