i bouhgt a new pair of wire cutters today, then stabbed myself really (no really really) quite badly in my thumb joint trying to get them out of their packet.  i think it has stopped bleeding now, and i think i don't after all have to go to casuality.  but it hurts like fuck.  ouch, i tell you.

so, in the interests of distracting myself...

we have to decide what to plant in the boggy bit thsat the onions disappeared in.

we (bill actually) has to transfer all the compost from the old water tank to the boggy bit to be dug in, and then take soil from the long bed and re-fill the water tank.  thart will probably just get tatties in it again.

we have to find a way to make our garden more attractiove to toads and hedgehogs.  then i have to learn to cope with the idea of horrd slimy toads in my garden.  however toads are much better than slugs.

all the potatoes and carrotls are now dug up.  just the sprouting broccoli which may or may not sprout is left.  <lj user=eastofedin> counsels me to be patient though, so i'll try.

me must talk bill into building a frame round the "fruit bed" to drape the netting over so it's easier to get under this year.

must read the books on vegetable growing what we have bought

must atop typing sincve it's not very easy and getting sore again

my mum had a huge buddleia in the garden and it attracted a lot of butterflies. Blair's mum grew lavender which seemed to attract a lot of bumble bees, but it did smell absolutely gorgeous. Don't have much of a clue about hedgehogs or toads though.
