(no subject)

it takes around 45 minutes to knit 30 rows, and then relatch every 10th stitch on bill's pullover. given that it's 109 stitches to a row, i guess that's pretty fast.

but it's also boring anf tedious. machine knitting is a lonely pursuit. as it's noisy you can't do it in company, and even listening to the radio is a lost cause.

i expect it will get faster as i get more into the rhythm of relatching.

i am having cake and coffee. just like a coffee break except i'm not at work.

the sun is shining. i will hang out some washing. which will still be wet at the end of the day becasue there is no breeze at all. but i will have had the pleasure of the sunshine and the hanging it out. which for some reason i like to do, so it's not a wasted effort at all

ecover laundry detergent smells lovely. which is another of those things you fail to notice while stuffing washing into the tumble dryer all winter.

you also fail to notice the small things that are too little to be put on the line draped over the radiators. but hey, there's a price for everything.

i got a jury summons! for PG county, so I guess I won't be going. but since it's for 14th april, the timing is actualy quite good if Bill's hawaii trip goes ahead after all. maybe the county will pay my airfare - that would save us a packet. hmm, they wouldn't have to spring for accommodation, since mum and dad won't charge me rent. maybe I should call up the clerk of the circuit court.

do they really ask if you agree with capital punishment for any case? so i could get my airfare paid, then turn up for a shoplifitng trial or something similar and get excused for saying i'd never ever agree to a death penalty. this sounds like a plan.

but you have to turn up at 07.30 on your appointed day. WTF? when is that?

12.15: Meet at Plaisir du Chocolat
12.30: Settle down at our reserved table and start knitting/ordering
15:00: Head off home as the cafe hits its busy period
