speed knitting
Mar. 20th, 2007 02:08 pmi've knitted the back of a top. the knitting time took about two hours including doing a backstitch cast off, which has got to be the slowest. i wasn't sure how i was going to finish the bottom, so i left it open, which meant i had to go back and re-hang it to knit a hem. not doing that again. make design decisions before staritng knitting!
i really should think about losing some weight though, becasue it took 108 out of 110 needles, and you know, that's quite a stretch.
the front will takre longer, i'm doing it in three segments, to try and give it a bit of structure.
i think i've got the pattern almost all there. i'm using knitware for the basic shape, then altering where i need to. i was making changes as i knitted the back, so i hope i remembered to note all of them down...
I have to leave to collect the boys in 10 minutes, so i doubt i'll get any more sone today.
TT has football, then this evneing there's the meeting for the working group for the new parent forum at the school. i will be tired after that.
and tomorrow will probably not have much knitting time either.
i *will* finish it by the time we go on holiday... i hope, that's only 8 sleeps!
