Apr. 24th, 2007 11:13 amWell, I dropped Bill at the airport. He has 5 nights observing in Japan, and will be home a week tomorrow. Nobeyama was his first ever observing trip, and he's taking a student from Glasgow on her first ever observing trip. So that's nice in a way, but he doesn't want to be going, and I don't want him to be either. But it's cold there, so he's taken his new lucky observing pullover with him... there's no webcam like at JCMT though so we won't get to see it in action.
And - there was no message on the answering machine, and no call since I got in, so I have not got the job at the nursery school. while I feel a little put out at not being the chosen one, i am relieved not to have to make the decision. the head teacher may of course have been watching my reaction closely when she said that she really wanted one full time person to fill the post and not a job share. my disappointment may have shown. or perhaps i'm just rationalising it and i dind't get it becasue i wasn't the best candidate.
Bill and I talked about it last night, and it's not just me wanting to continue escaping the real world, he feels strongly that I shouldn't go back to 5 day a week working until Nico is settled at school. i hardly slept a wink last night though. i think i may have been worrying
In other news, I got a new mobile yesterday. a samsung d900.
it is very lovely and it is red and i like it a lot. it has a 3MP camera! and a dinky little led "flash" and it slides open. but mostly, it's RED and i am very happy to have it. i have also tied myself to a phone contract for the first time ever. for the next 18 months my ass belongs to T-mobile...
i will be going knitting tomorrow night - perhaps people will let me use it to take pictures of their projects (oh, just hands, not faces if they're shy) and use them for the blog?
do i have anytng else to say or should i go and fold all the washing?
