update on Al

(this is bill, btw).
just came back from hospital thisevening. Al's doing ok, although she's well tired, and using the PCA (pushbutton for morphine). the surgeon said last night when we went in that it will feel like being run over by a bus for the first day, then a car the next day...

we didn't see the doctor tonight, but the nurse said that things went ok - the operation went as planned. she went in at 9am, and was out at 5.30pm. so it was a long op.
we won't know for sure how it worked for a bit, as they've got to check that things are ok every hour or so for a couple of days.
will let you know.
