gold star for my scars

i have finally had a successful quack appt. i had my follow up with the plastics guy yesterday. basically he's very pleased with me, i'm doing better than expected, especially for someone who has just started chemo. at just under 7 weeks i am easily as far forward as we would have expected me to be at 8 weeks, so that's all good.
all that's left now is to make me a new nipple. yes, he seems to think that this will be important. i think it's just his aesthetic sensibilities, he wants the job to be finished. i don't currently give a rat's ass. we agreed that i might give them a call in a year or so.
soo. he asked if i minded having photos taken before leaving. i didn't mind in the slightest. so off i went and got the glamour shots done again. this time i was asked to tick the boxes for medical records, teaching, and patient to patient. and the photographer asked if it was ok to change the permissions on the first ones. and i figured that was fine. they obviously don't ask you this before surgery. but if surgery goes well, the after photos aren't any use without the befores. so i've said they can use them as well.
the surgeon must think he did a good job to say he's going to use them to show other patients.
and in other news, my Ravelry t-shirt came yesterday. plus my buttons.
