what did we accomplish today toward moving? I'm not sure there was anything. oh, yes, we freecycled my old breastpump and all its bottles and attachments. but even so, it wasn't very big. the recipients very kindly gave us a tin of low caffeine but still proper espresso coffee. that was lovely. we shall try it when the current packet runs out.

was there anything else?

i had my last parent council meeting at preston street. i was very sad, and i burst into tears when they gave me a very (very) big bunch of flowers. there is a photo, i will upload tomorrow.

have been a bit down since this afternoon - had my heart scan, and i'm down to 51%. i was 53, 53, 55 (remember my jubilant posting?) and now down to 51%. Herceptin is "cardiotoxic" so I suppose it's not surprising. the radiographer asked me if I'm tired. um, yes. and I'd been wondering why. all the nurses keep saying "no matter what the side effects are supposed to be, I think herceptin makes you tired" well, yes, especially if it affects heart function, and if your heart isn't working as well as it used to, you might get tired. I guess that's a no-brainer.

well, I will probably have to have another of these before the Chileans will give me any drugs. and the Chileans won't have Winton, who is the "superintendant radiographer", all round nice guy, and super talented at finding difficult veins. I think he would be willing to travel, but I doubt the insurance company would cover it.

we have had an unbelievably expensive quote from an agency for shipping Quirk to Santiago. so maybe we'll be doing it all ourselves after all. unless anyone I know wants to go into the pet export business??

tomorrow the school is closed because of the unison strike., i think we are gong shoe shopping, sadly not for me, though...

We're probably heading into Edinburgh tomorrow, FWIW, as I'm on strike and nursery is closed.

i'm planning on taking them out to mcarthur glen at livingston for the shoe shopping, don't suppose that's convenient for you? we could have lunch? or we could do that early and meet you in town somewhere in the afternoon? TT has beavers at 6.30 but otherwise we have nothing immovable.

We have a haircut booked for L at 9am (oh why oh why did I book one that early - we'll have to be out the door at the normal time!) but otherwise I have no plans so lunch sounds good. Somewhere in Edinburgh? What do you suggest?

a 9 o'clock haircut? what were you thinking?!

I'll try and get us out to livingston early, before all the other mothers decide the same thing, and get us back into edinburgh. if the weather's nice, the cafe in the botanics is much improved these days, and then we could go for a walk/run/sit on bench and knit. the weather is supposed to be dry, if cool and cloudy. in inclement weather, Ocean terminal is a good spot as lunch and running around can be had (even without resorting to the ghastly Molly's "fun place").

there are other places, but i can't think of any right now!

Those two both sound good :D

Looks like fine but cooler tomorrow, according to the forecast.

If we're going to knit I better dig out something to start :D

is 1 o'clock too late for you?

shall we say the cafe in the botanics, but if it's raining, meet at ocean terminal instead?

one of the gates to the botanics is temporarily closed - look for the signs and watch where you park so you don't have to walk for miles!

if it's raining, call me on my nobile.

Sounds good.

Does the cafe do baked potatoes and beans? L will eat them and they are a safe bet.

If you want to buy me the airplane ticket I will take the cat to Chile for you. :)

I imported one from Romania to the USA via France, though that was under the seat in the cabin.

nah, unfortunaly it's not getting Quirk round the houses that's the problem, it's getting the bit of paper where it needs to go.Quirk wouldn't do under the seat, even if they allowed it. it WOULD NOT BE PLEASANT.
