i'm curious, i tend to not bother with caps when typing in here, and i don't bother much with spell checking either. i do like to get my punctuation right though. (and now I have to decide whether to stick a comma in between "right" and "though" bugger, wish i hadn't started this now)

do my friends think less of me for my lack of care and attention to my typing?

also, just what is LJ etiquette - if I'm commenting on someone else's journal, should I be more careful, and capitalise and spell properly?

why am i asking this? because it's better than working...

3 days, 2 hours and counting!

*shrug* I tend to have a 'hard to read' cut off. So I don't mind caps or lack therefor, or punctuation or spelling until it gets jumbled up and unreadable. You're nowhere near that :)

My husband would beg to differ, but I think consistently poor spelling and bad grammar reflect on how people see you as a person. It's the same as pronouncing words properly when speaking.

Or maybe I'm just pedantic.

pedantic is good, well, most of the time!
and I do most certainly agree, I have a *terribly* snobbish attitude to people who can't type and don't knwo their grammar. i just can't be arsed with proving it myself most of the time!
actually, i'm very careful with my *spelling* it's just the ty[ing that sucks!
how's the non-niddrie going?

I don't have a problem with how you write. You tend to break your entries into sentences that are easy to read, use paragraphs and punctuation where needed, so you are easy enough to read.

I tend to view LJ (and many other internet forums) as informal and therefore a less formal style is fine. If anyone wants to unfriend me because I occasionally type teh, they're welcome to :)
