damn. this is annoying. i've just phoned up about the intermediate dressmaking course running through the adult education department. i now can't enrol until the first day. there are two places avaialble. so i take my chances and turn up. i might or might not get a place. but i can't do the course without childcare. i can't book childcare unless i have a place on the course. i certainly can't ask work for help with childcare for the course if I don't know if I have a place on the course. work have just emailed to say that everyone who is being made redundant will be entitled to up to £1000 for help with training, career advice and financial planning. but if I can't get on the course, I can't do it. without help for childcare I can't do it. well, actually that's a nonsense. without help for childcare i would have to dip deeper into my redundancy settlement than I had intended.
