geraniums?

i'm just making the boys some tea, and i noticed again that the carrots have an unusual smell.  These are our carrots from the garden.  It finally came to me - when raw, they smell of geranium.  Is this unusual?

In other news I have made a skirt pattern.  I think I will try and turn it into a skirt.  it might be interesting.
